Walks

Walk around in the beautiful lush green surroundings of our property with chances of some spotted deer glances here and there.

Trek

A two hour trekking program to a nearby mountain peak which has a beautiful view of the Blue Mountains of Nilgiris with a guide. For the more energetic and adventurous guests: Trek along the perimeter of the reserve, across rocky streams, hillocks, gullies, bamboo thickets and scrub forest.

Bon-fire

An evening bon-fire with mellow music.

Regular safari

Regular safari on the internal tar roads of the sanctuary with good chances of spotting wildlife-duration approx. one and a half hours.Booking has to done at least a day in advance. It is subject to weather conditions and availability.

Forest Van Safari

Drive through the Wildlife reserve in Government vans, organized by the forest department into the Mudumalai Tiger reserve. It’s organized both in the morning and evening.

Elephant Ride

Mudumalai wild life sanctuary is famous for its flora and fauna. The best possible way of observing wild life from elephant back. At Theppakadu, (Mudumalai Wild Life Sanctuary) the forest department organizes elephant rides. Our valuable guests will be taken early morning and evening to these elephant rides. It is subject to availability and weather conditions.

Mudumalai wild life sanctuary

Mudumalai is one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in South India and is a part of the greater Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. The name Mudumalai means- ancient hill range. Mudumalai is rich in flaura and fauna. It is home to the Asiatic elephant, Tigers, leopards, giant squirrels, flying squirrels, bear, gaurs, sambar, chital, barking deer, mouse deer and a variety of bird life include racket-tailed drongo, black woodpecker, parakeets, barbets, mynas, cuckoos, Malabar trogon, Malabar gray hornbill, crested hawk eagle, and crested serpent eagle. There is an elephant camp within the sanctuary for viewing elephant feeding program and their puja.

Blue Mountain train

Go for a trip on the blue mountain steam train, which runs, between Mettupalayam and Ooty. The track passes over 26 viaducts, 13 tunnels and numerous bends and tropical rain forest. The viaduct between Kallar and Adderley is a photographer's delight. There are good chances of encounters with elephants and tigers on this beautiful journey.

The Bokkapuram famous tribal dance

This dance is a specialty of the tribals here who celebrate happy moments and festivals with the beating of drums and dance to its tunes. This is a very colorful and unique event and can be organized for guests on request at an additional charge.

Bandipur Project tiger reserve & National Park

Just 20 mins drive from Safari Land is Bandipur Sanctuary, the flagship of Karnataka’s most beautiful, and renowned teak forest and a project tiger reserve, which has the added attraction of Elephant safaris.
